I suffered with Acne as a child, from my face, back, upper arms and chest. It was very soul destroying (late 1970’s). I moved to the US at 19 and my Acne totally cleared up, lifestylechanges and Food changes.I moved back to the UK in 1998 and would you believe, as a grown woman, my Acne returned. I underwent hormone checks and a host of other options through the NHS, without discovery of what might be aggravating my skin.During a visit with my Beauty Therapist she asked me if I ate Bacon, yes was the answer. She informed me that this can be a trigger.. I stopped eating Bacon and my skin returned to being silky smooth and healthy. I did however still get the odd mild, small spots on my upper neck close to my ears and in my hair line.Speaking with family it came to light that this is hereditary and is caused (within our family) through Coffee or Caffeine! I proceeded to cut Caffeine out of my diet and I am now Acne and spot free.It is not the Bacon that causes Acne it is a preservative which is the culprit. During my years in the US I did not eat Bacon and I was not a coffee drinker until 1998..I hope this helps and might be of use to Acne sufferers..
